Careers Charging technology

EV Charging & OCPP Integration Engineer

Test OCPP 1.6J integrations, charging sessions and error handling on AC chargers.

The role

Connect chargers and test OCPP behaviour

Two chargers may support OCPP 1.6J yet handle session events and faults differently. This role focuses on integration tests, logs and charger behaviour before pilots begin.

Potential contributions

What you'd work on

  • OCPP 1.6J integration, telemetry and session lifecycle validation
  • Charger interoperability, diagnostics and lab or field testing
  • Reliable authorization, start/stop control and fault handling
  • Build repeatable compatibility checks and document results for supported charger models.
  • Collaborate with software and pilot teams to distinguish protocol issues from field setup problems.

Your background

Relevant experience

Hands-on familiarity with EV charging systems, embedded integration, protocols or test automation.

  • Practical knowledge of OCPP 1.6J and charger session lifecycles is especially relevant.
  • Experience with logs, telemetry, diagnostics, protocols and structured testing.
  • Careful reasoning about authorization, safety boundaries and failure recovery.

If your experience overlaps with this role, send examples of work you've done. You don't need to cover every item.
